INTERIOR DESIGN IS ALL ABOUT PEOPLE

IDIBC-Title-paragraph-rule

It is not about a finished piece of art. It isn’t about you going away for three days and coming back to a new space. It’s all about the human aspect — how do humans use their spaces?

How can we make your space fit you?

Live

You already know, thanks to tv, that designers can pick your paint colours. “Reality” shows would have you believe that designers just come in, and voila — give the homeowners a new space. The clients never get a chance to provide input, and are always surprised by the result, good or bad.

The reality is that a Registered Interior Designer works closely with you, so that your home suits your needs and fits your lifestyle.

Work

You are already in spaces we design. Every day. Every time you go grocery shopping or pick up a prescription. Every time you visit the insurance office or the bank. Dental office. Plastic surgeon. Oh yes, and likely your own workstation too.

Registered Interior Designers are involved at every stage of planning, construction, renovation and fit-out. We work closely with you, designing a workspace that suits your organization’s functional needs and reflects the overall brand. We draw the floor plans, detail built-ins, choose the furniture and light fixtures, select the carpet and tile, even find and hang that perfect piece of art.

Offices, Medical & Dental Facilities, Educational Facilities, Financial Institutions, Hospitals, Laboratories, Shopping Malls, Grocery Stores, Airports, Retail Stores

Play

Do you like to have fun? We do! We have fun designing your favourite restaurants, recreation centres, theatres & hotels, and we also draw on an extensive knowledge of health authority, liquor licensing, building codes and functional planning to make sure that nothing interferes with your fun.

You already know the great work we do on the front end (the finishes, furniture and lighting), but what you may not know is that we’ve already thought about flow, traffic patterns for wait staff, clear lines of visibility for lifeguards, commercial kitchen requirements (all the less than glamorous ‘stuff’ that should work well and never be noticed).

Who We Are

IDIBC-Live-Title-Paragraph-Rule

Registered Interior Designers on Vancouver Island all have one thing in common — we have each invested a minimum of six years to obtain our professional certification, through accredited education, mentored work experience and an intensive series of professional exams.

As Registered Interior Designers we are are certified with the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications, and are professional members of the Interior Designers Institute of BC and the Interior Designers of Canada.

We consider Building Code and Health, Safety & Welfare requirements. We design lighting schemes and layout plumbing fixtures. We design and detail custom millwork and furnishings. We coordinate our design work with architects, engineers and other building professionals on your project team.

There is a lot more to it than just those lovely pillows and paint colours.
